There are ways you can lose weight and belly fat easily, but first, let me tell you a little story.
Belly fat can be difficult to lose, I struggled with losing fat in my abdomen some years ago. I had an excellent trainer, I attended the right workout classes, but after a while I felt like I’m wasting my time because there was no improvement. One day, I sat on my porch reading a book when my trainer called.

He asked if I was coming in for a session that day, I said no! I told him I won’t be coming in anymore, that I’m done with the workout routines, and that I don’t see any progress. He was disappointed, but more worried that he failed me.

Then he decided to give it one last try by convincing me to another session. Well, he was able to convince me to come in one more time by saying “I will do everything possible to work on the issue and meet up with your expectation”.

That fateful day, I went to the gym to see him. He was so excited to see me, and told me how much he misses working out with me, and how he has a plan to make my workout very effective this time around. But first, I need to elaborate on what I did after our session each day.

He asked if I followed the diet plans and schedules that he made for me. I was muted because then I realized what the problem was, I never followed his instructions about how to maintain my new diet. Deep down, I thought taking protein shakes and powder after an extreme exercise was enough, but it was a lot more than that.

1. ADJUST YOUR DIET:

Dieting is as important as working-out, is actually more significant than exercise. I’m not trying to discourage you from working out because I know how much effort a lot of people has put into it, is more like encouraging you to make your physical activity as significant as your diet. 2. WALKING:

Walking is underrated, and it’s not a workout routine for most people because they think is ineffective. Yet, walking is one of the most effective workouts for the abdomen, it doesn’t only lose fats, but it also makes you visibly fit. Study shows you can burn 100 to 300 calories in 30 minutes’ walk, depends on your weight, or 200 to 600 calories in an hour. Brisk walking is very effective if practiced every day, and can increase your metabolism. It also, reduce the risk of heart disease, blood pressure and it improves your mental health.

3. REDUCE SUGAR IN-TAKE:

Sugar in-take is not healthy, and can increase fat in the abdomen. Sugar can be found in so many foods, and drinks, is advisable to stop drinking juice, soda, and every drink that contain sugar if you really want to lose weight. Studies shows that sugary drinks increase fat in the liver, and it appears to be even worse than food that’s high in sugar. Excess sugar consumption has been associated with obesity, tooth decay, heart disease, and a lot more than that. Avoiding sugar intake will not only reduce fats, but it will also make you healthier.

4. EAT MORE PROTEIN:

I still remember how much protein I eat when trying to lose weight, lots of fish and meat, and less carbs. It doesn’t just help with losing fat, it helps strengthening the muscles in your abdomen. It was hard for me to eat less carbs. I had to develop the habit of buying less food that contain carbohydrates, and I got used to it. The less you buy, the less you eat.
What is carbohydrate? Carbohydrates are starches, fibers and sugars found in fruits, grains, vegetables and milk products. Carbohydrates are classified into the simple, and complex carbohydrates. Simple carbs contain one or two sugar, whereas complex carbs contain three or more sugars. Simple carbs are absorbed and digested more easily than complex carbs, according to the NIH.

There are the good carbs which is healthy, and provides energy for our day to day activities. And there are the bad carbs where all the excess fat comes from, and should be taken with moderation. Or avoided completely if you really want to lose weight. Examples of the good carbs are; Vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, whole grains, tubers and seeds. List of the bad carbs are; Fruit juices, sugary drinks, ice cream, French fries, white bread, candies, cookies and cakes.

6. SIT-UPS & CRUNCHES:

In my experience sit-up is effective when you maintain a low-fat diet. Sit-ups helps to strengthen, tone, and tighten the abdominal muscles. Doing at least 100 to 200 sit-ups a day can make a massive transformation and help toned your muscle. You can do sit-ups, and crunches, they are both effective. Study shows the bicycle crunches is the most effective ab exercise, the exercise uses all of the abdominal muscles. To do this position, lie on your back on a flat surface, or mat with your legs in the air and knees pulled towards your chest. Your hands or fingers should be on your ears, or the back of your head.

7. DRINK LESS ALCOHOL:

According to researchers, too much alcohol can make you gain weight. Consuming small amount of alcohol is healthy, and helps reduce calories intake. Study shows people who drank a glass of wine a day has less belly fat than those who drank 3 or more glasses of wine on days they drank. You don’t have to cut alcohol entirely out of your life, but limiting it to a “Standard drink” has potential health benefit.

8. USE OLIVE OIL FOR COOKING:

Olive oil is a natural oil obtained from olive, it contains powerful antioxidants and vitamins E & K. Numerous studies shows diets rich in olive oil has helped with weight loss, and increase antioxidant in the blood. Extra virgin oil contains large amount of mono-saturated fats, and it has helped to prevent diseases. In summary, it takes determination to maintain a diet plan and workout daily. It’s not as easy as it looks, but is worth it. Nevertheless, eating more protein, fewer carbs and less sugar in-take can burn a lot of fat in your body. And there’s a lot of potential health benefits that comes with it. Sit-ups doesn’t really burn fats; it helps the belly appear flatter and more toned. Moderate alcohol consumption provides health benefit, and drinking little or no alcohol can help you lose weight.
